Windham IN for Monster Energy Cup
AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that GIECO Honda’s Kevin Windham, of Centerville, Miss., will race the second annual Monster Energy Cup at Las Vegas Sam Boyd Stadium on October 20.
Windham, 34, has been racing professionally for 19 years, is a Western Regional Supercross Lites Class Champion and has finished runner-up in the Supercross Class three times. During the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross Championship Windham was fifth in point standings before suffering an injury at Houston that ended his season. The winner of 18 Supercross Class Main Events, Windham has amassed 203 starts and 75 podium finishes.
“The energy in Vegas is always really top notch, and it’s a good opportunity for us,” said Windham. “I was glad to be a part of the inaugural race, and I look for this thing to grow a lot. I think they’re on to something that’s really good there with something that is hybrid that fans of our sport can’t see except for at the Monster Energy Cup.”

The 2012 Monster Energy Cup features an all-new track design inspired by five-time Supercross Class Champion Ricky Carmichael. The Carmichael-inspired track design will consist of supercross and motocross obstacles unlike any other racetrack design in the world. More than 200’ of the track will be built into the grandstands, and the riders exit the stadium and race through the Monster Energy Fan Zone outside of the stadium and through the pit area before they catapult back into the stadium. The Monster Energy Cup posts a $250,000 purse with the winner walking away with a $100,000 check, and any rider that wins all three Main Events will take home $1 million.
