Mid-East Area Qualifier Relocated
April 21 and 22 Mid-East Area Qualifier Relocates to Podium One MotoPlex
Morgantown, W. Va. - MX Sports, producer of the 2012 Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by Amsoil, announces today a change in the Mid-East Area Qualifier schedule. The Clark County Planning Commission has put a temporary restriction on racing at CLCR in Underwood, Ind., forcing the April 21 and 22 Area Qualifier to relocate approximately 10 miles down the road to Podium One MotoPlex in Charlestown, Ind.
"Unfortunately the Country Lake facility was faced with some last minute county zoning issues that require us to halt racing until the issue is discussed further at the next board meeting in May," said Jimmy Povolny, owner of CLCR. "We're extremely blessed to have a good relationship with Podium One and for them to be able to work with us on such short notice to still be able to hold a Mid-East qualifier for the racers."
"MX Sports apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to racers and their families," said Tim Cotter, MX Sports Event Director. "However, we feel that Podium One will do a great job as we've worked with them in the past and in addition to teaming up with Jimmy Povolny, we feel this will be a great event."
Horsepower Motosports has made arrangements to continue as the promoter of the Mid-East Area Qualifier now taking place at Podium One MotoPlex.
"We're really excited to have the opportunity to work with MX Sports as an Area Qualifier and we're looking forward to continuing the racing at CLCR and moving forward with the development of the track and facility," Povolny added.
Podium One MotoPlex is holding a race this weekend, April 14 and 15, as part of the Podium 1 Motocross Cup series, which also serves as a Kentuckiana MX Series points race.
