Pro Circuit Delivers in Daytona

CORONA, Calif., – Torrential downpours and a mud-bogged track seemed to be the nemesis of the majority of the riders at the Daytona Supercross by Honda on Saturday night in Daytona Beach, Fla., but Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Broc Tickle, Darryn Durham, and Blake Baggett stayed tough and braved the elements in what has proved to be the most treacherous race conditions of the 2012 season so far.

Tickle has been working hard to rebound from a few finishes outside the top-ten in the Supercross Class. Despite deteriorating track conditions, Tickle stayed solid and put on a commendable ride. His focus, determination, and hard work proved to not be in vain on Saturday, and he piloted his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki machine back into top-ten territory, finishing eighth in the Supercross Class Main.

Teammate Baggett bounced back from a few not-so-ideal finishes he’s had the past few weeks. The hard work he’s been putting into his starts definitely paid off in Daytona. He got an excellent start in his Heat Race, and followed it up with a win, which set him up with a great gate pick for the Main – an extremely crucial factor at the muddy Daytona track. He jumped to a second place start in the Main, and was looking solid as he was sprinting to catch up to the leader. His skills in the mud were put on display, and he had some excellent line choices locked down that propelled him to a mere few second gap from the lead. Despite his skills and speed, the conditions of the track proved to be against him, and he had a slight bobble that set him back a few seconds. He was quick to rebound and, again, was a few seconds from the leader. The shortened 12-lap race, however, proved to be too short for the Southern California native. He couldn’t make the pass in time for the checkered flag, but he definitely put on an excellent show for the crowd. He put on a valiant effort, and he was turning heads with his redeeming runner-up finish.

Durham earned the second podium of his career in Daytona on Saturday night. He was ecstatic, and did an excellent job of braving the elements. After getting a mid-pack start in the Supercross Lites East Main, he stayed focus and put in a great charge, as he powered all the way up to third. He was extremely happy to get back on the box, and his solid ride bumps him up to second overall in the Monster Energy Supercross Lites East Championship Series.

The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki boys now make their way to Indianapolis, as the next round of Monster Energy Supercross will invade the Lucas Oil Stadium this Saturday, March 17. Durham heads to Indy in second overall, with 76 points in the Supercross Lites East Region, while Baggett jumps up to fifth, with 62 points. Tickle sits in 13th, with 82 points in the Supercross Class.
