  • Pro Circuit Post-Race Report: A2
CORONA, Calif.,-  A sold-out Angel Stadium played host to the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross for the second time this season. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson and Broc Tickle had serious business to do, and were both focused on rebounding from last week's tough race. Their teammate, Tyla Rattray, sat the night out due to injuries sustained after his heat race crash last Saturday in Oakland. He will be out for the next few weeks as he focuses on recovering from those injuries.

Wilson arrived in Anaheim 15 points behind Eli Tomac, the series points leader. He was focused on closing the points gap between him and Tomac, and knew a good finish was crucial in that endeavor. He looked strong during practice, and was feeling confident as the night show approached. The gate dropped for his heat race and, while he did not get the start he had hoped for, he easily made multiple passes and took the first win of the night. He was confident going into the Supercross Lites West Main but, again, did not get the start he had hoped for. He spent the remainder of the race fighting hard for every position, and ended the night just off the podium in fourth. He heads to San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium in second place overall in the Supercross Lites West Region.

“My starts are setting me back,” said Wilson. “I worked so hard this past week, and it’s disappointing that all that hard work was thrown away because of a start. I’m looking forward to redeeming myself in San Diego. I’m more motivated now than I have ever been before.”

Broc Tickle has had an interesting season so far. All eyes have been on him, as he is the first rider in history to pilot a Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki in the Supercross Class. The series has been a learning experience for him so far, and he has continued to make improvements every week. He was looking smooth all night, and scored his second top-ten finish of the season.

“I’m feeling really comfortable on the bike,” said Tickle. “I learn something new and make improvements at each race, so I can only be hopeful of what’s to come in the next few weeks.”

The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki boys head to San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium this Saturday, February 11th, for the sixth round of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship. Wilson stays in second overall with 91 points in the Supercross Lites West Region, and Tickle stays at 14th with 41 points in the Supercross Class.
