  • Big Air Kids Fair Friday Feb 3

Who: Top professional Motocross riders return to LLUCH for the 9th annual Big Air Kids’ Fair.

What: TNT Action Sports will present the world’s best freestyle motocross riders in a private show for the hospital’s young patients and their families.  X-Games Gold Medalists Ronnie Renner and Tommy Clowers will be flying high with Myles Richmond and Destin Cantrell as the four extreme athletes perform a heart-stopping array of tricks over a 75-foot ramp-to-ramp gap.

Afterwards, Supercross racers Andrew Short, Josh Hansen, Justin Brayton, PJ Larsen, Davi Millsaps and 7-time Supercross Champion, Jeremy McGrath will join them in touring the hospital. Also coming are X-Games medalist and truck racing champion, Ricky James, multi-time Women’s Amateur Champion, Sarah Price, star of MTV’s Nitro Circus, Andy Bell and Robbie Maddison, fresh off his New Year’s Eve world record-setting jump of nearly 400 feet.

In addition, Ed Wilson of Fire & Police MX will be joined by our special guest, Los Angeles Chief of Police, Charlie Beck, in presenting a gift to the Marty Moates Shining Star Fund.

When: Friday, February 3:  Demo at 11:00 am; Unit visits from 12:30 – 2:30 pm

Where: Outside of Children’s Hospital

Why: Former professional Motocross rider, Steve Bauer founded this event in 2003 as a way for the Motocross industry to give back to the community. Every year since then the hospital has welcomed Steve and a handful of the world’s greatest motocross racers as they tour the hospital, handing out gifts such as t-shirts, hats, toys and posters to the children and their families.  In 2005, Steve contacted Jeff Tilton to add a FMX demo to the event. The sight of the athletes performing tricks on their 220 lb machines just a few feet outside their second story window was such a huge hit with the patients, families, and hospital staff that it is now one of the most highly anticipated events of the year at LLUCH.
