KTM's Cooper Webb Podiums at MEC
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – KTM Motorsports is excited to congratulate Red Bull-backed KTM support rider Cooper Webb on his 2nd place overall finish in the Supermini class at the inaugural Monster Energy Cup held at Sam Boyd Stadium.
The top riders from the Supermini class at the 2011 AMA Amateur Motocross National held at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch were invited to Las Vegas, NV to compete against each other for the Supermini title. Webb, who recently switched to the KTM brand made his first public appearance on the 105 SX at the weekend’s event.Webb set the third fastest practice time and soon after found himself on the starting line ready for the first of two 5 lap motos. In the first moto he had a top ten start and spent the first few laps moving through traffic. He eventually plowed his way forward to move into 2nd place which he held to the checkered flag.
In moto two, he had a great start coming around the first corner in 2nd place. He remained right on the tail of the lead rider, Adam Cianciarulo, and the two quickly separated from the pack. After five laps, Webb once again, held on for 2nd place. His 2-2 results earned him the runner-up spot on the podium.
Coopers next event will be the Mini Olympics held Thanksgiving week at Gatorback Raceway in Gainesville, FL.
