Mammoth Opportunity for Spy Moto Tear-Off Cleanup

CARLSBAD, Calif. – SPY Optic™ is proud to sponsor another year of the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross, the longest-running motocross event in the U.S.A. Aside from its longevity, this event is known for incredible riding by future stars of the sport, and an amazing participant and spectator experience that’s due in no small part to the surrounding Inyo National Forest.
This year, Mammoth Motocross marks SPY’s inaugural Walk the Track/Tear-Off Cleanup campaign, providing a unique opportunity for spectators and riders to walk the historic track while helping eliminate waste from discarded plastic motorcycle goggle tear-offs, which are recyclable.
“Mammoth MX provides the ideal backdrop for the launch of the SPY Adopt-A-Track campaign,” says Victor “Slasher” Sheldon, SPY motorsports marketing manager. “If you ride or if you’re a fan of motocross, you know the pervasiveness of these tear-offs, which litter the track and beyond, and which can be recycled. Track cleanups need to be part of the riding experience, especially in sensitive and protected places like our National Forests. In typical SPY fashion, we’re involving our athletes, offering prizes and trading stories, and affording race fans an on-the-track experience and a little insight into greener living.”
Walk the Track/Tear-Off Cleanups will be held post-racing on Mon., June 20, and Sat., June 25, 2011. Registration and further information will be found at the SPY encampment at Mammoth.
