First Stop of Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series This Weekend
SALT LAKE CITY, UT- The Big Sky Challenge kicks off this weekend in Billings, Montana, “The Hillclimb Capital of the World”, and is the first round of the 2011 Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series. Rockwell Time is proud top be back on board as the title sponsor for this year’s series and if the action is anything like last year, it is sure to be intense. The series consists of 3 rounds, the first being in Billings this weekend for the Big Sky, the second round takes place at the infamous 1000’ Widowmaker in Croydon, Utah on June 23-25, and the series wraps up back in Billings for the Great American Hillclimb on July 29-31. With a guaranteed pay-out of $150,000, the Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series is not only the richest single and combined hill climb series in the world, but it also attracts some of the best hill climbers in the nation including Petey Krunich, Max Simmons, Corey Erhardt, Jon Smith, and Brandon Whitlock. Just like last year, the climbers will not only be competing for the money but custom Rockwell Championship watches as well.
“I’m so excited to get the Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series underway this weekend. As a series, we have really grown as a professional organization. Better yet, I believe we put on the most competitive Hillclimb series out there with most times of the top ten finishers being within 1/3 of a second of each other. I enjoy hill climbing because of the friendships and camaraderie that is enjoyed at each and every event,” states Series promoter and organizer, Jordy Smith.
“We love being part of the series. We think it has the best hills, the best riders and most importantly the best people,” claims Rich Eggett, owner of Rockwell Time.
