Greg Hartman Injury Update
Temecula, CA: FMX (Freestyle Motocross) is an international sport that takes riders all over the world to ride under many different circumstances that aren’t always the best. These dedicated riders sometimes are hurt when away from home dealing with hospitals, language barriers and getting back home can be sketchy at best.
Professional FMX rider Greg Hartman just suffered a fall in China during practice for a demo at the currently running Asian X Games. Thankfully, ESPN and the X Games are the best in the business when it comes to caring for injured athletes so even though he is thousands of miles from home he is in great hands.
Initial reports indicate a broken femur, humorous, some shoulder damage and they are monitoring him closely for head injury. He remains in a medically induced coma at the moment, but signs are good showing minimal swelling in the brain.
The Athlete Recovery Fund (ARF) is the only 501(c)3 in BMX, FMX & Skateboarding and being able to act fast is one of their biggest assets. Currently ARF is working with Greg’s wife and the crew on the ground in China to help out wherever needed.
