Mid-East Area Qualifier Venue Change to Daniel Boone MX
April 15, 2011, 9:15am
Morgantown, WV - Due to an unfortunate incidence of fire, MX Sports announces the cancellation of the Horseshoe Bend Area Qualifier that was scheduled to take place May 21 and 22 in Owenton, Ky. The Horseshoe Bend facility was burned down this week and therefore unable to host events at this time.
The Mid-East Area Qualifier will now take place at Daniel Boone MX in London, Ky., on May 21 and 22. Victory Sports will remain the host for this event.
"Horseshoe Bend MX Park is closing the doors for business indefinitely. We've had some misfortune this past week with the barn, that was our track office and sheltered many track tools and equipment, burning to the ground on April 3rd. By the time the fire department arrived it was too late. The barn and everything in it was completely incinerated," said Jimmy Povolny, owner of Horseshoe Bend MX Park.
"This is a huge blow to our ability to continue to do business. It's not just the fact that it was the fire and the things lost in the fire, but the fact that we don't think it was an accident. We are going to need some time to further asses what has happened and come up with a game plan before moving on. This is a huge disappointment for everyone who has worked so hard to make Horseshoe Bend what it is In just it's first year. Thank you so much for all the support we have received," Povolny added.
