“André is a great new addition to DC’s motocross team,” said Anton Nistl, DC’s President. “We have a long and rich history in the motocross industry, and adding another top FMX rider to our outstanding team, which includes Travis Pastrana, Robbie Maddison and Nate Adams, is truly a testament to our continued investment in motocross.”
Norwegian born, the 28-year-old André currently splits his time between Temecula, CA and Torrevieja, Spain, where he owns one of the largest and most well known freestyle compounds in the world. Growing up in the small town of Lillehammer, Norway, André learned to ski and ride motocross at the age of four. Showingnatural ability in both sports, he spent time as a semi-pro newschool skierbefore deciding to fully commit to motocross in 2001. His outgoing personality reveals itself in his perfectly timed tricks, including his flawless cordova and stripper flips.
“In a relatively short time André has become one of motocross’ elite athletes,” said Brian Cassaro, DC’s Action Sports Marketing Director. “His success is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport. Our moto category mantra has become “Refuse to Lose” and André embodies that mindset 110 percent.”
“I am excited to be part of such a great team that dominates freestyle motocross,” said André. “Signing with DC is a milestone in my career, and I will style the sickest kicks in the industry with pride.”
Up next for André is the 2011 Red Bull X Fighters series, which kicks off in Dubai this Friday, April 15. Last year he placed second overall in the X Fighters series, taking the top spot in Mexico City as well as three other podium finishes. This year’s competition is sure to be a good one as André will be competing alongside DC teammates Nate Adams and Robbie Maddison.
