San Manuel's James Stewart Takes Fourth at Dallas

Arlington, TX -Team San Manuel Yamaha Red Bull’s James Stewart came into Arlington hoping for a win. The day looked promising for Stewart as he posted his usual fastest qualifying time, attacked whoop sections with great speed, and once again won his heat race. Stewart had a great top five start in the Main and quickly started working his way up, exchanging spots with other riders and battling his way through. At one point, Stewart collided with another rider and was knocked off his bike. He remounted quickly and was able to keep his YZ450F on two wheels and finish fourth for the night. “It’s not the result I was looking for,” Stewart said. “I feel like I’ve been riding good, but things just aren’t quite clicking. I’m going to work on it this week, get some good training in and hope to get it together in St. Louis.”
Stewart’s teammate Kyle Regal had just been released to ride this week and was super excited to race in his home state. Regal didn’t have much time to train but made the best of it and showed a lot of potential to start the day off and finished fifth in Heat 2. In the Main Event, Regal didn’t get a great start after getting stuck behind a pileup on the first turn. However, Regal pushed forward and started working his way through the pack. Regal was able to make his way up to 11th place, but struggled towards the end in one of the difficult whoop sections. Getting the wind knocked out of him, Regal tried to pull it together, but could only salvage a 16th place finish. “I struggled with some crashes in the Main, but I’m glad to be back,” Regal said. “I’m looking forward to a good week of training in Florida and see where I end up in St. Louis this weekend.”
Stewart is currently in fifth with 234 points, 21 points behind the lead; Regal maintained 15th place with 65 points.
