WMR Off-Road Racing Announces 2011 GNCC Team
Stuart FL. – WMR Off Road Racing is excited to announce that Nate Kanney has signed to compete in the 2011 Grand National Cross Country Series for the WMR Off Road/Clockwork/Planet Fitness/KTM racing team.
Kanney will race the GNCC series in the premier XC1 class aboard a KTM 450 SX- F, and plans on also campaigning select National Enduro, National Hare Scrambles, and OMA National events. After a successful 2010 season aboard his factory FMF / KTM and a win at the biggest race of the season at the Snowshoe GNCC, Nate is motivated to win and is excited about his new team.
A mid season injury last year took Kanney out of the championship hunt but has left him hungry for the 2011 season to begin.
“I’m training and working harder than I ever have, my new bikes are awesome, and I really feel like this is my year” said Kanney. "I met the guys from WMR last year when they were building motors for Chris Bach, and they helped him pull off a great season. After riding his bikes I really liked the way the motors felt, plus WMR was looking to build a satellite KTM team, so we got together and everything just clicked. I have also been fortunate enough to obtain early significant outside sponsorship from St. Lawrence Radiology, SUNY Canton, and Motofit Motorsports. With this group of talented and devoted people around me, I can relax and focus on winning races knowing I have a great team supporting me” said Kanney.
WMR Competition Performance is a KTM dealer and off road race shop located in Stuart, Florida. WMR has been building championship caliber bikes for top amateurs and pros since 1994. Team manager George Pollard will head up the team's efforts together with Kristian Ortiz. Kevin Schuler from Clockwork KTM will also be a big part of the team, assisting with the GNCC program team handling many of the duties at select National events.
