Dunlop Riders Top 2010 Mini Olympics

  • Dunlop Riders Top 2010 Mini Olympics

Dunlop extends its congratulations to Team Dunlop’s 2010 Mini Olympic National Champions Dakota Alix, Jordan Bailey, Chase Bell, Jace Owen, Chase Sexton, Jordon Smith and Mark Worth. At the 39th Annual Mini Olympics held at Gatorback Cycle Park in Florida, these Team Dunlop riders won 15 national championships over the six days of competition—six Supercross titles and nine Motocross titles. In additional to the elite Team Dunlop squad members’ outstanding results, a solid contingent of Dunlop-shod race machines dominated the competition, winning 61 of the 78 national titles up for grabs.

Justin Bogle won the Dunlop Silver Tire award at Mini-O’s for being the top point scoring A-class rider (Supercross and Motocross points combined) at the Mini-O event. The Silver Tire award has been given to the top scorer at Mini-Os for more than 20 years, but Bogle’s award was extra special.

"This is the first time in the history of the Team Dunlop program that we have awarded the Silver Tire to a graduating member," said Dunlop Vice President Mike Buckley. "Justin was a 2008 Team Dunlop member, and we’re proud to see him poised to move on to the professional ranks in 2011 with the GEICO Powersports Honda team.

Heading the current Team Dunlop win tally was Alix, who racked up four national titles including the Supercross 14-15 85 Stock and 14-15 85 Mod titles, plus winning the Motocross 14-15 85 Stock and 14-15 85 Mod national championships. Bailey and Bell garnered three wins each: Bailey the Supercross 7-9 65 Stock, Motocross 7-9 65 Stock and 7-9 65 Mod championships, and Bell the Supercross 12-13 85 Stock, Motocross 12-13 85 Stock and 12-15 Supermini 1 titles. Smith was a two-time winner, clinching both Supercross and Motocross 12-13 85 Mod titles, while Sexton, Worth and Owen each scored victories; Sexton the Supercross 10-11 65 Stock title; Worth the Motocross 9-11 85 Mod winner and Owen the Motocross 12-16 Youth Mod championship.

"We are really proud of the way the Team Dunlop members and all the other Dunlop riders performed at the 2010 Mini Olympics," said Primo Marotto, Dunlop’s Manager Amateur Motocross Support. "With more than 75 percent of the champions choosing to race on Dunlop’s Geomax range of tires, Dunlop dramatically out-performed all other brands at the final amateur national event for the year."
