Pro Taper's Dungey Takes Title
Corona, CA – Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey etched his name in the record books this weekend at Motocross 338 in Southwick, MA. The 20-year old Minnesota native became the first rider ever to win the AMA Supercross and Motocross Championships in their rookie season.
In true dominating fashion, Dungey secured the 2010 AMA Motocross Championship at the tenth stop of the series, leaving him with four motos to soak in his accomplishments. Do not expect Ryan to let up on the competition just yet, as he is currently riding an 11 moto win streak and has not lost an overall since the season opener back in May. Look for Dungey to continue his strangle hold on the 450 class and carry this momentum in to September’s Motocross of Nations and the 2011 AMA Supercross Series in January.
National Championships are won as a team and the entire Rockstar Makita Suzuki organization deserves credit for Dungey’s success. Pro Taper has been proudly affiliated with the team for years and is ecstatic to have had the likes of Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed and Ricky Carmichael utilize Pro Taper EVO handlebars to guide them to numerous AMA Championships.
Look for Dungey to be sporting a custom Pro Taper "RD1 Championship" handlebar pad for the remainder of the season. Be sure to keep tabs on the official Pro Taper Facebook fan page for announcements on how you can win one of the custom RD1 Championship PT bar pads!
