MotoConcepts Racing Unadilla Report

  • MotoConcepts Racing Unadilla Report

Spokane, Wash.  – MotoConcepts Racing (MCRMX) had a mixed bag of results this past weekend at Unadilla, NY.  One rider nailed a holeshot, two riders finished in the top 20, and a future team member qualified first overall.

Jeff Alessi qualified 10th and came out of turn one of moto one, in first.  Alessi was flying and quickly started putting distance on the field until a scary looking get off ended the ride.  Number 801 remounted his CRF450 but was unable to continue and had to finish the rest of his day in the trailer.  The California native is part of a trio of MCMRX 450 riders in the top 20 overall and sits in 14th place.

“Jeff had a clean holeshot and was really riding a fast pace to start the race,” stated Team Manager Steve Lamson.  “We were all bummed when he went down as he looked the best he has all year.”

Weston Peick had the top overall finish for MCRMX with a 16th in moto one and a solid 13th in moto two.  Peick landed in 14th overall for the race and is currently in 19th for the year.

Teammate Tyler Bowers finished the day in 18th overall after posting a 15th in moto one and 27th in moto two.  Bowers is two points behind Peick and in 20th overall for the year.

On the 250 side, rookie Vince Friese qualified 13th and in the race action finished 19th and 17th respectively, for 21st.  The Missouri native is now in 21st overall for the year.

Last week MCRMX signed 450 rider Matt Goerke, who is in the process of finishing out the 2009 Outdoor Nationals onboard a Factory Yamaha.  Number 34 showed why the team is excited for him to join as he qualified number one.  The race wasn’t as kind to the Florida native, but Goerke displayed the speed that will make for a lot of excitement heading into the 2010 supercross season.

MCRMX would like to thank team sponsors: MotoConcepts, FMF, FLY Racing, Pirelli, DeCal Works, Smooth Industries, Alpinestars, Utopia, TLR, Vortex, TCR, Sunline, Dragon Racing Fuel, Excel RK, Goldfren, Devol Engineering, Boyesen, Guts, Motion Pro, DT 1 Filters, Motorex, Leisure Concepts, Northwest Steel Fab., Extreme Motosport MX park.
