Pro Taper GEICO EnduroCross Halftime

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Negotiating the boulder pile, wheeling up and over a big log then doubling into the mud hole is no problem for the top riders on the GEICO Powersports AMA EnduroCross series. Now let’s see you do that on foot, steering yourself with a set of Pro Taper handlebars!

Part of the halftime festivities of GEICO EnduroCross, ten lucky fans will be selected through local radio station promotions to compete in this wacky race at each of the six GEICO EnduroCross rounds, beginning at the end of this month (July 25th) at Las Vegas ’ Orleans Arena.

“I have a hard enough time walking around and showing the track to VIPs and sponsors, so to see some GEICO EnduroCross fans actually run through the course – and holding on to a set of Pro Taper handlebars – is going to be insane,” said GEICO EnduroCross director of sales and marketing, Lance Bryson .

Pro Taper’s Kevin Strikwerda had the idea for the promotion in which contestants will have to hold onto the bars with both hands as they negotiate, at speed, through a pre-determined section of the course. Making motorcycle noises with ones mouth being optional. “Pro Taper is looking forward to putting the world’s best handlebars in the hands of people trying to negotiate the world’s toughest track,” said Strikwerda. “This should be a pretty exciting and laugh-filled event for both the contestants and fans.”

EnduroCross tracks incorporate various elements of off road racing into a supercross-style setting, including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud, a water-hole… and even a few special obstacles like giant tires thrown in! Known as the “toughest racing on two wheels,” this indoor version of extreme off road racing will certainly keep you on your feet. The GEICO Powersports AMA EnduroCross series will be captured by the Versus Network, to be aired on the popular grassroots racing program; The Lucas Motorsports Hour.
