Husqvarna "All In" for Vegas Endurocross Opener

  • Husqvarna "All In" for Vegas Endurocross Opener
Woodcliff Lake, NJ - When the cards are dealt in Las Vegas on Saturday night July 25th, smart money says that two of the world's top off-road racers, desert ace Ty Davis and French enduro sensation Antoine Meo, may very well finish in the chips at the AMA's opening round of the 2010 Endurocross series. Both men are prepared to put it all on the line to win, but the deck is stacked in their favor as they will riding Husqvarna's latest weapon, the TC250. According to Davis, Team Husqvarna could prove to be a darkhorse in Vegas.

"My team and I have had a chance to test the TC250 for this event, and I consider it to be a perfect Endurocross machine," says Davis, a Hesperia, California-based racer and owner of Zip-Ty Racing. "It's lightweight, has plenty of power and it handles like a dream! Our chances for success will be even better because I won't be out there alone," adds the racer-turned team owner. "I'm raising the stakes with two of my hired guns: Gary Sutherlin and Nick Burson. There's a good chance that by the end of the night, one of us will finish on the box."

Speaking of winners, Enduro stand-out Glenn Kearney takes a break from the GNCC series to try his luck in Vegas with a Husqvarna WR300 2-stroke. "Deal me in, mates!" adds the affable Aussie.

Further improving the odds is the addition of Meo to the Husqvarna team. The Frenchman beat the best in the world to win the 2008 Genoa Indoor Enduro, a format very similar to the Endurocross track at The Orleans. A former Grand Prix MX racer, Meo has switched to the World Enduro Championship series and is making a rare U.S. appearance. "I'm excited to race with Antoine and Glenn," says Davis. "Win, lose, or draw we'll give the Husqvarna dealers something to cheer about."

Husqvarna is also using the excitement of the Endurocross event as the focal point for their national dealer convention. The brand is totally focused on racing motorcycles and race-inspired dual-sport machines, so the fit with Endurocross is a natural one indeed.

"Husqvarna first came to American decades ago to race," explains Husqvarna National Sales & Marketing Manager, Scot Harden. "During the past year, our company and bikes have made a big comeback in many racing circles, so what better way to showcase our newest products than at an event like Endurocross? And who better to do it than Ty Davis, Antoine Meo, Glenn Kearney and the members of the Zip-Ty Racing Team!"
