  • Metcalfe & Barcia lead Unbound Energy @ RedBud

CORONA, Calif. – Brett Metcalfe and Justin Barcia again led the Unbound Energy-backed GEICO Powersports/Honda team on the world’s premier motocross racing stage, this past weekend placing 4th and 6th in the 250 class, respectively, at Buchanan’s (Mich.) RedBud Track and Trail, the highest-attended stop thus far on the Lucas Oil AMA MX National tour.

Airing live on national NBC TV, the RedBud National features one of, if not the premier race surfaces on the entire tour. Both Metcalfe and Barcia dug right into the action on their CRF250Rs, with Barcia scoring a 3rd place podium finish in the opening moto, with Metcalfe coming in right behind him in 4th.

In the second moto Metcalfe would score the podium, while Barcia battled a couple mistakes in placing a respectable 7th. Unbound Energy-backed GEICO Powersports/Honda teammate, Blake Wharton, overcame a first moto DNF (34th) to make the top ten in the second moto (9th) and salvage a top 15 overall 250 class finish (14th).

On the season Metcalfe’s a solid 4th place in the overall standings with 179 points, while Wharton (6th/156 points), Barcia (8th/151 points) and now-injured Trey Canard (10th/139 points) are all in the top ten 250 class overall standings.

Next up for Unbound Energy’s Barcia, Wharton and Metcalfe and Reardon is the July 18th Spring Creek MX National in Millville, Minn. Check out what’s happening with the GEICO Powersports/Honda Team – fueled by Unbound Energy – at www.unboundenergy.com

Make your own rules…live outside the lines. Unbound Energy is available in 16 oz. cans at BP, am/pm retail and CVS locations, with more locations being added every day! Also available online at www.unboundenergy.com
