GEICO Powersports Ponies Up 50 Large for EnduroCross Sweep
June 25, 2009 1:55pm
ANAHEIM, Calif. – Think you’ve got what it takes to top the world’s best off road motorcycle riders in a muddy, rocky, log-covered elbow-to-elbow dirt bike slugfest on the floor of three of the nation’s premier arenas? Well if you do GEICO Powersports will hand you a cool 50 grand – which, by the way, will pale in comparison to the legendary status you’ll have attained by rolling off the couch and onto the top of three GEICO Powersports AMA EnduroCross series podiums, one win each at Guthrie, Okla., Denver, Colo., and Las Vegas, Nev.
The third annual GEICO Powersports Triple Crown of EnduroCross is back as a thrilling sidebar story to the already edge-of-your-seat exciting EnduroCross series, pitting the world’s top off road, desert, enduro, cross country, motocross, supercross and trials riders against one and other in this unique form of racing held each month from July through November across the United States.
“Two years ago David Knight literally had 50 grand ripped out of his hands by Taddy Blazusiak,” said GEICO Powersports’ Eric Vaden. “EnduroCross racing’s electriying enough. GEICO’s Triple Crown pretty much puts it over the edge.”
Since the GEICO Powersports Triple Crown of EnduroCross’ inception in 2006 no racer has been able to step up and collect the bounty. Knight’s come the closest, and all reports point to him making another run at it this year, but in the wild and wooly world of EnduroCross racing – and fans that have attended the live events can attest to this – racers can be leading at one moment and then back to 8th place before you can say “I just lost 50 freakin’ grand!”
The 2009 GEICO Powersports $50,000 Triple Crown of EnduroCross will play out at the following EnduroCross series venues:
Date Venue City
8/15 Lazy E Arena Guthrie, Okla.
10/24 National Western Complex Denver, Colo.
11/21 Orleans Arena Las Vegas, Nev.
Note! Special ticket and hotel rates available for the OPENING ROUND, July 25th, in Las Vegas are NOW available at the Orleans Arena, 888-234-2334; or online at www.OrleansArena.com
EnduroCross tracks incorporate various elements of off road racing into a supercross-style setting, including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud, a water-hole… and even a few special obstacles like giant tires thrown in! Known as the “toughest racing on two wheels,” this indoor version of extreme off road racing will certainly keep you on your feet. The GEICO Powersports AMA EnduroCross series will be captured by the Versus Network, to be aired on the popular grassroots racing program; The Lucas Motorsports Hour. With its excitement and unpredictability, the EnduroCross championship has always down to the wire and this year will be no different as the series starts and finishes at Vegas’ Orleans Arena! Don’t miss your chance to see GEICO Powersports AMA Endurocross “Live” - and be sure to log-on to www.Versus.com for local airing dates/times for the Lucas Motorsports Hour.
