Bobby Bond's Wortham, TX Report
June 10, 2009 1:09pm
Bakersfield, CA - Bobby Bonds made his way to Wortham, Tx this past weekend aboard his Valli Motorsports/AXO/FMF backed Yamaha 450F continuing his MX efforts in the hot, humid Texas sun. Bobby had a decent start in Moto 1 where climbed into mid range and finished with a 15th out of 40 of the fastest riders in the country. When the gate dropped on Moto 2, he found himself tangled up with Factory Honda's Ivan Tedesco into the first turn. From there, Bonds was able to pick off riders and salvage a 16th for a respectable 16th O/A on the day.
"Texas was HOT to stay the least. I've raced the mid country and back east venues for most of my amateur career so I'm used to this humidity and race conditions but it does start to take a toll in this competitive Outdoor Series. I'm happy with the way the Yamaha handled and I hope to continue getting better results for my team as the year moves on. I'm definitely getting more comfortable and look to move up in the points when Lakewood arrives." - Bobby Bonds
Bonds will sit out the next round (Mt. Morris in Pennsylvania) as he will contest Round #6 of the 2009 WORCS series in Toutle, WA, just 70 miles north of the Oregon border next weekend. Bobby sits third in points for the WORCS series and looks to get another win before heading into summer break.
Next race: WORCS Series, Rnd #6, June 14th.
