Straddleline, WA WORCS Event in August
Washington, UT - WORCS Racing announced today a week long Amateur Motorcycle event planned for Straddleline, Washington this summer. The week long festivity dubbed as "WORCS Bike Week" will take place the week of August 1st- 9th at Straddleline ORV park, located just north of Elma, WA.
"This was actually the brainstorm of Roger "Homer" Hamel. Homer had this idea to bring together a week long event up in Washington, where the riders can compete in a couple of different forms of racing, all at the Straddleline ORV park. The week long event will begin the first weekend of August and conclude through the following. What is cool about this idea is, we will incorporate two rounds of the WORCS series, a Western Hare Scrambles event, an WORCS X-cross race and a Motocross only race as well. I think the riders will enjoy this, plus give the families the opportunity to enjoy the Washington area and make a vacation out of it as well." Jason Reed of WORCS Racing-Public Relations
"As soon as I heard this idea, I knew we could help make it happen, and that is exactly what we plan to do. We will run both rounds of the WORCS Series, a Western Hare Scrambles round, an WORCS X-cross and a MX only race. It should work out really well and we are excited to work with Straddleline ORV to help make it happen. Roger's been around the industry awhile, and this is such a cool idea, the riders should enjoy this and take it in. Each rider will get the opportunity to showcase their diverse skills in each aspect of racing and the highest point total in each amateur A class will receive an AMA Championship plate for this one off event to be presented at the National AMA awards ceremony. The following schedule will take place over the first week of August:
August 1st & 2nd (Sat/Sun)- WORCS Rnd #7 (in conjunction with Western Hare Scrambles Rnd #4)
August 3rd & 4th (Mon/Tues)- Off
August 5th (Wednesday)- WORCS Motocross (MX track only- 2 moto format)
August 6th (Thurdsday)- Off
August 7th (Friday Night)- WORCS 2nd Annual WORCS X-cross Event (under the lights)
August 8th & 9th (Sat/Sun)- WORCS Rnd #8 & AMA Championship Awards
