Thunder In The Sand Beach Race This Weekend
THE WILDWOODS, NJ - The thrill and excitement of motocross comes to the Wildwoods on May 29-31, 2009 with the “Spring Thunder in the Sand” beach race! This weekend’s event consists of AMA-sanctioned Pro-Am motocross races which range from the beginner level to the area’s top professional racers. All of the weekend’s races take place on the pristine Wildwood beach between Schellenger and Spencer Avenues, which happens to be voted the best beach in New Jersey! This is the only time you can camp on the beach and have the back drop of the ocean while watching and/or racing for 3 days of pure motocross action!
This weekend’s race is known for having a huge pro payout giving the pros the opportunity to walk away with between $220 to $275 per moto each day in the 450A and 250A classes! This race is also the opening round of Thunder Motorsport’s “Atco/Thunder In the Sand Series”, which goes to Atco MX Park in Atco, NJ on July 24-25, back to Wildwood on October 9-11, and back to Atco for the final round on November 14-15.
It’s not just all about the motocross racing. Thunder Motorsports will also be holding sand drag races on Friday night and unveiling a new monster truck at this weekend’s event that will take on the track after racing completes on Sunday! MXPTV will be covering the entire event with daily photo coverage for all 3 days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) of all of the activities happening at the Spring Thunder In The Sand, which will be all posted at www.mxptv.com. Friday - Regular Practice 1-4 (Price - $15) Drag Racing - 6:30pm
Saturday - Practice - 9-11am - Racing Starts at Noon.
Sunday - Hot Laps - 9am - Racing Starts at 10am.
