Elka Suspension and ProMoto Billet/Fastway Performance Team Up

  • Elka Suspension and ProMoto Billet/Fastway Performance Team Up

Executives from Elka Suspension and Pro Moto Billet/Fastway Performance recently announced a strategic alliance for the production and distribution of the System 3 and System 5 steering dampers. By joining forces, the two companies are aiming at bringing the damper products to new levels.

Elka Suspension introduced their System 3 and System 5 steering dampers to the ATV market in 2006. These products quickly became highly popular as they provided an unprecedented level of adjustability and performance for quad applications. Since then, Elka was looking for a strategic partner to help them keep up with the huge demand. Elka’s Director of Marketing comments: “Our company’s forte is hydraulics, damping and geometry analysis & improvement. We were looking for a partner with acute machining expertise and proven track record for providing a high level of precision within tight tolerances, and that’s Pro Moto’s forte.” -said Patrick Tellier.

Pro Moto Billet was a logical choice for Elka, with their solid reputation for quality machining and great attention to details. Pro Moto Billet is also owner of the Fastway Performance brand, which markets control products for dirtbikes and motocross, a market that was also a target for Elka Suspension’s steering dampers. “This strategic alliance is a natural fit for both companies, which can focus on their respective strengths to bring these products to the next level” – said Martin Lamoureux, President of Elka Suspension.

Through this strategic alliance, Pro Moto Billet/Fastway will take over the manufacturing, branding and ownership of intellectual property of Elka’s steering damper products. Elka Suspension will continue to be a distributor of the products and will provide consultation for new applications and implementation in other markets.

“Elka’s steering dampers are a natural extension and great addition to our existing line of products, while at the same time opening doors in new markets for our company.” – said Mr. Lynn Hodges, Owner and President of Pro Moto Billet/Fastway. The General Manager of Pro Moto Billet/Fastway, Mr. Brett Madron, added: “Elka suspension and Pro Moto Billet share the same values in providing high quality parts and outstanding customer service.  We are looking forward to a great relationship.”

The transition is expected to be completed before July 15th, 2009. With the support of Elka Suspension, Pro Moto Billet/Fastway Performance expects the transition to be smooth and transparent for the customers.
