CC Rider Signs Antonio Balbi
Rolesville, North Carolina – CC Rider signed an agreement with Antonio Balbi to compete in all twelve rounds of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross Series as their team rider. Balbi will be riding Honda’s and competing in the 450 class. CC Rider is the title sponsor of the team.
Balbi finished in twelfth place overall in the AMA Outdoor Motocross Series in 2008. He holds numerous championship titles in Brazil and Latin-America. Most recently he won the 2008 Brazilian Supercross Championship in MX1. In 2004, he won the Brazilian Supercross Championship in MX1, the Brazilian Outdoors Championship in MX1 and the Latin-American Championship in MX2.
CC Rider is the team known in the Supercross pits for their light-blue motorcycles. The team started as a way for Mike Bartholomew and Kris Mobley to help out privateers looking to compete with the factory teams in professional motocross. The team is very comfortable thinking outside of the box and has gained notoriety in a very short period of time.
In response to the strong fan support for the team and the CC Rider concept, they have launched a lifestyle apparel company. CC Rider recently released its 2009 apparel and some mechanic’s gear. The new CC Rider product line is available on their web site at www.ccridergear.com.
“We are really excited about working with Antonio Balbi this season. Instead of working with a group of riders, we chose to select one rider to focus our efforts on in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Balbi has demonstrated that he can run with the top riders and he embodies what we stand for at CC Rider. He understands the concept of Branded Not To Quit. We are looking forward to a very successful season,” stated Mike Bartholomew, co-owner of the team and company.
“I am pleased to be riding for the CC Rider team this season. The program they put together is solid and has what I need to be able to show up at the races and do my job. I have been training hard and my lap times are the best they have been. I am looking forward to posting strong results this season and doing my part to grow the CC Rider program,” commented Antonio Balbi.
The team’s first race is this weekend at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California on May 23, 2009.
