MX GP of Spain LIVE This weekend
May 13, 2009 11:53am
Namur, Belgium - All eyes are focussed on Rui Goncalves (MX2) and Antonio Cairoli (MX1) this weekend for the 6th round of the 2009 MX World Championship.
Cairoli has a solid 25 point lead already in the championship, but he's in for some worthy competition in Spain. It might be Joshua Coppins this weekend who is motivated to step it up and show the younger generation that he still is hunting for that same World Championship title.
Spanish MX1 ace Barragan dropped down to third in the Championship after a troublesome left shoulder hampered his results in Agueda last weekend. Nevertheless the GP winner will display his fighter’s attitude by aiming at a solid result on his home ground.
But that goes as well for the MX2 class where the 'frenchies' are numerous and they are hungry for the podium. So the main question is, will Rui Goncalves take his 3rd ever (and consecutive) GP win this weekend or not? And will Paulin keep hold of that red plate?
And Belpuig is also hosting the 3rd round of the FIM WMX with Livia Lancelot leading the championship. Will see take her 3rd consecutive win at the GP of Catalunya?
