  • 2009 U.S. Open Tickets Now Available

AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports announced today that tickets for the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open, which takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena October 9-10, are now available. The Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open showcases the world’s greatest supercross racers in a two-night, winner-take-all format inside the intimate MGM Grand Garden Arena where the top AMA Supercross Lites class racers will compete against the top AMA Supercross class racers in one class.

“Two years ago we went with the one-class, one champion format, and we saw Jake Weimer win Saturday night’s main event and last year Ryan Dungey rise to the occasion as he finished third overall coming out of the Lites class,” said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations, Feld Motor Sports. “This format proved to be successful and entertaining. It will be interesting to see if any of the Lites class riders will be able to remove the AMA Supercross class riders from the top positions.”

Defending Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open champion James Stewart swept both nights of racing last year en route to the second championship of his career. Stewart’s first Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open came in 2006 when he defeated AMA Supercross legend Ricky Carmichael with two first-place finishes.

Tickets for the 2009 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open are available at Ticketmaster locations, the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office, www.ussx.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
