Division7/Star Racing/Yamaha Salt Lake City Report
Salt Lake City, UT - The AMA Lites West coast Supercross series finished up in Salt Lake City, Utah this past Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium before 40,612 fans. For Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha and #164 Michael Hall, closing the series out with a strong finish had a high priority to say the least. By the end of the two practice sessions, Hall had established himself as a capable candidate for a run at the front of the field.
Slated into Heat #1, Hall got to the first turn well up in the front of the field, only to be setback by a pileup which set the stage for an intense six lap charge to secure a transfer spot. Now back around 15th, the youngster put his head down; setting lap times that were much needed to elevate him inside the top nine. Fortunately, Hall’s ever growing confidence helped the Yamaha pilot find 5th place by races end.
The main event took off with all of the hype; Hall was right in the mix from the drop of the gate. Lap one concluded, with Hall holding down 10th…For three laps he remained in same suit, before moving up to 8th. Near the halfway mark Hall’s conditioning began to shine seeing him continue on with consistency, only dropping to 9th with less than three laps until the checkers. From this point on, Hall closed out the remainder of the race in quiet fashion finishing out the night in 9th for the third time this season. The up and down season for Hall was capped off with an upswing, and the final tally of points has him 17th overall in his rookie season.
Star Racing thanks all these key backers for their quality service.
