Hollister, CA - Ricky Dietrich once again proved why so many believe him to be the best Off Road Racer in America by winning round four of the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS). Dietrich’s victory makes it three wins out of four tries for the Monster energy Kawasaki rider. Dietrich came from mid-pack early in the race to take over the lead with 40 minutes to go in the two hour Pro 1 main event. From that point on he quickly gained a one minute gap and held it to the checkered flag. Dietrich’s victory also gave him the points lead in the WORCS Series with 91 points and three wins.

Second place fell to Tim Weigand on his Team JCR Honda. Weigand, who just came off a Western Hare Scrambles victory at the same facility last week, established himself in the lead early on the first lap. He gapped the field and ran an almost perfect race for most of the first 1 ½ hours, before succumbing to the charge of Dietrich. The second place finish was Weigand’s first WORCS podium this season and elevated him to third in the points chase with 79.

Third place went to the relentless Bobby Bonds on his Team Valli Motorsports Honda. Bonds, the defending WORCS Champion had to come from way back after a series of crashes in early in the race to make it to the podium.

Damon Huffman put on a late race charge to take fourth place just ahead of Mike Brown in fifth. Brown, who got the holeshot, was dropped back in a bizarre pile-up that involved Huffman, Nathan Woods, Justin Soule, and Brown himself. Huffman and Brown recovered well to make the top five, but Woods and Soule incurred bike damage that later required long pit stops to fix.

Brown sits second in the points with 83 and one win, just eight behind Dietrich. Weigand is third in points with 79, Bonds is fourth with73, just ahead of Soule with 63 and Huffman with 57. So far this season, Dietrich has been almost flawless with his only misstep being a 24th place finish at round two when a broken radiator hose caused his bike to overheat while he held the lead and he was forced to nurse his wounded mount around the track at reduced speed for a single title point.
