Sign of the (Lap) Times: High Point

We’ve been getting some requests lately to combine the top lap times from both classes to see the top 20 fastest riders in the land. Well, we decided to do that with the second motos from High Point for this week’s Sign of the (Lap) Times, presented by our good friends over at RXR Protect. James Stewart

We sorted them out, and it comes to no surprise to see Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart at the top of the list of fastest lap times – his 02:11.003 topping the field by more than two seconds. Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Mike Alessi was second fastest on his EFI RM-Z450, and not far off of his pace was a trio of Lites contenders, with Austin Stroupe leading the charge on his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX250F. His teammate and winner Ryan Villopoto was next, followed by Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey.

The first non-Suzuki- or Kawasaki-mounted rider was the 118 of Honda Red Bull Racing’s Davi Millsaps, who finished third in the AMA Motocross class. He was then followed by three more Lites competitors in the forms of Brett Metcalfe, Jason Lawrence, and Jake Weimer.

All told, there are a total of 12 Lites riders in the top 20 fastest lap times. Keep in mind that the track wasn't quite as rough for the second Lites moto as it was for the Motocross moto, and the bikes are lighter and more nimble.
