Team Kawasaki just held a press conference announcing Stewart's decision to pull out of this weekend's race. The injury is to his left knee, the same one he hurt at Washougal. He originally reinjured it Dec. 20, and then aggravated it further at Anaheim 1 and Phoenix. He's been in pain this week but held out hope that he'd be able to line up tonight at Anaheim 2, but he's decided that it's just not possible. He's sitting out with the hopes that he'll be ready to go next weekend in San Francisco, thus minimizing his points loss to 25.
