TRAVIS PASTRANA WINS HIS SECOND CONSECUTIVE
RALLY AMERICA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

VISTA, CA-- Congratulations to DC Rally Driver Travis Pastrana, who grabbed the 2007 Rally America National Championship title on Saturday, Oct. 27.  Only racing in the series for three seasons, this is Pastrana’s second Rally America Championship Title. Pastrana became the youngest-ever Rally America National Champion when he won his first championship title in 2006.

“Travis is really an amazing and competitive athlete. He put up a good fight in each of the rally races throughout the season, and he, more than anyone else, deserves that title,” said DC Co-founder and Rally Teammate Ken Block. “I’d like to say that on behalf of DC and myself we are very proud of Travis, and we look forward to seeing what he will continue to accomplish in his rally career.”

The Lake Superior Performance Rally was the final event of the series, and the title was up in the air between the three series board leaders Pastrana, Ken Block and Andrew Pinker, who were only a few points apart in the championship standings. Pastrana and Co-driver Christian Edstrom started off with a solid lead in Day One. But Day Two proved troublesome when Pastrana experienced mechanical issues and fell behind by seven seconds, putting him in second place. LSPR’s final three stages were packed with excitement when Pastrana fought back to regain the lead and capture the title win by a mere 3.5 seconds.

“I’m so pleased to have won another championship.  This year’s championship was even more special because it came down to the final round and I really wasn’t sure if I would be able to repeat,” said Pastrana.  “Being the youngest winner of the Rally America Championship was quite an honor, and being the first repeating champion is something I’ll cherish forever.”

Pastrana was constantly in the spotlight throughout the 2007 rally season. He had placed first in four rally events, and earned a spot on the podium in seven out of the nine events this season, including a Bronze medal this summer at X Games 13.
