RC Sends Best Wishes To Bercy SX Fans
Seventeen-time champ will not be able to attend the Bercy SX.
Tallahassee, Fl (October 16, 2007) – Ricky Carmichael was expected to compete in his final motorcycle event at the 25th Paris-Bercy Supercross on the weekend of November 9-11 but due to health issues has withdrawn. Ricky was looking forward to saluting the French fans one more time and is saddened to have to pull out. “I want to send special thanks to Xavier Audouard and to Eric Peronnard for the hard work in organizing this great event and to apologize to them for the timing of this whole mess. I was really looking forward to racing at Bercy and to spending a great weekend in Paris with friends and family. I have always enjoyed that race and wish them my best for another successful event” said Carmichael.
“We are very sad that Ricky cannot join us in Paris but are more concerned for his health. Ricky has been a dear friend of mine for years and his health situation is the most important to all of us. We wish Ricky the very best in his recovery and thank him for everything that he has done for the sport and for his appreciation of his fans from all over the world” commented Eric Peronnard.
Ricky has been in Phoenix Arizona visiting with family and relaxing since the original announcement came out early this month regarding his health. RC plans to be back in Florida this weekend and hopes to be back in a race car very soon. “I’m trying to adjust to not being able to train as much. I am used to a very regimented schedule and find myself getting bored to death relaxing so much. I’m doing what the doctors advise but I can tell you I would much rather be out riding or in the gym preparing to race” said Carmichael.
