Kiwi fan favourite and AMA Rookie of the Year to make AUSX Open debut

Supercross star Cole Davies returns to Australia for a global showdown

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — One of the most exciting international rising stars in Supercross, 17-year old AMA Supercross Rookie of The Year,  Cole Davies, is officially confirmed to race at the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Open, with tickets sales launching today, for the November 22 showdown at Marvel Stadium.

Hailing from Waitoki, just north of Auckland, Davies shocked the Supercross world by having had a breakout rookie season racing in the U.S based 250cc West Coast AMA Supercross Championship, for the famed Monster Energy, Star Racing Team.

Returning to Australia, where his Supercross journey first began as an amateur, Davies is now set to go bar-to-bar with the world’s elite in the SX2 (250cc) class — including top Australian talent and major U.S. rivals — in what promises to be one of the most highly anticipated showdowns of the night.

“I’m genuinely excited to be lining up at the AUSX Open in Melbourne this November. It’s about as close to a home race as it gets for me, and I’m stoked to give back to a community that’s supported me from the start. The AUSX Open has grown into one of those iconic events I’ve always wanted to be part of, even with how full-on our schedule is in the U.S. Massive thanks to Star Racing Yamaha for backing me on this - I’m pumped to get a couple of extra gate drops in before we kick off the 2026 season!”

Davies joins an already stacked lineup, including global icons Jett and Hunter Lawrence, Australia’s best domestic riders, and more international heavyweights still to be announced.

The 2025 AUSX Open marks the 10-year anniversary of the largest Supercross event outside the U.S. — and this year’s edition is set to be bigger, louder, and more unmissable than ever.

“Cole is one of the most promising young riders in world Supercross, and his return to Australia is a massive moment for fans across both Australia and New Zealand,” said AUSX Open Director, Kelly Bailey. “With the Lawrence brothers, Australia’s best, and fierce international contenders still to be announced, this is shaping up to be the strongest and most hyped lineup we’ve ever seen. Fans are in for something unforgettable this November, and we’ve plenty more news still to come! Stay tuned!”
