  • Cole Davies Returns to Riding Following Collision with Jordon Smith at Salt Lake City SX
Salt Lake City, UT Salt Lake CityMonster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

Cole Davies is back riding. The 17-year-old rookie took the Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX West Division by storm, scoring four total podiums—two of which were wins—before finishing second in the standings. He had a tough end to the season though, as he was bumped off the track, and podium, by teammate Haiden Deegan at the Denver SX round, then he was accidently landed on by Jordon Smith in qualifying at the final round. Davies suffered a broken arm and a broken nose in the incident, which sidelined him indefinitely for the opening few rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. While Davies was at the hospital, his mechanic Lachlan Mills accepted the 2025 250SX Rookie of the Year Honors on behalf of his rider.

Today, Davies returned to riding for the first time. Yamaha BluCru posted a photo of Davies on the bike. He also posted the same photo with the simple caption "All in" on his Instagram. An official return date has yet to be determined.

Davies currently sits 14th in the 250SMX SuperMotocross World Championship qualifying standings, in a direct transfer spot into the motos at the moment (top 20 is the guaranteed cut off spot, 21 through 30 has to race the LCQ at all three SMX rounds). Maybe we will see Davies make a return once Pro Motocross resumes after the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in August.

“@monsterenergy @yamahamotorusa Star Racing’s Cole Davies returned to riding today as he continues to build towards his return to racing.

“Man, I’ve missed this. It’s been a tough few months since Salt Lake, and the whole injury process was something pretty foreign to me. I watched the boys ride once during that time, and I won’t lie… it sucked. The team has been unreal through it all, and so have all the people who reached out to show support. Today’s the day I’ve been waiting for. I’m back on the bike and all in!” - @cole17davies”
