Ken Roczen Returns to WSX Series, Cooper Webb In For Australian Round November 29
Some news from the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) as Ken Roczen has committed to the series for the fourth-consecutive season, and Cooper Webb will compete as a Wild Card entry at the Australian GP.
Roczen won the WSX Championship in 2022 and 2023, and finished second to Eli Tomac in 2024.
WSX is building this as a "Rivalry Reignited" following years of intense supercross duels between Webb and Roczen through the years, which include a handful of the closest finishes ever, and even another classic fight this year at Daytona.
The Australian GP round takes place on November 29 on the Gold Coast. This is not to be confused with the AUS-X Open in Melbourne, which used to be part of the WSX Championship, but left the schedule last year and returned as part of Australia’s own Supercross Championship. The AUS-X Open takes place the weekend before the Australian GP, on November 22. That race will feature, at least, Hunter and Jett Lawrence, and other racers who are part of the Australian Supercross title chase. Interestingly, the final round of the Australian Supercross Championship takes place in Adelaide the same weekend as the Australian WSX GP round on the Gold Coast. What does that mean for riders who usually compete in both series? We’re not sure yet.
