Ty Masterpool Changes to 250SX West Region, to Debut at San Diego SX
There have been a lot of moving parts for the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team in the last week. The five-rider roster was initially announced on January 7 as Levi Kitchen and Garrett Marchbanks on the 250SX West Region and Ty Masterpool, Cameron McAdoo, and Seth Hammaker in the 250SX East Region, but Kitchen became ill leading into the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season opener. Kitchen missed all of Friday’s media actives, although he tried to ride free practice on Saturday—which did not go well.
So, before qualifying actually started, Kitchen and the team made the decision to switch him to the 250SX East Region. Note that since he did not qualify for and start the night show, his 250SX East Region eligibility still remains. The #47 went home and shifted his focus to the February 8 Tampa Supercross.
Kitchen’s switch puts four riders on the 250SX East Region with just Marchbanks racing the 250SX West Region. However, now Steve Matthes is reporting Masterpool will switch to the 250SX West Region in order to be a second rider alongside of Marchbanks, starting this weekend with Saturday's San Diego Supercross.
Hearing Masterpool gonna slide to the west starting this weekend. Kind of thought it might be Adams but parts/mech etc for new bike are a bit sparse so this makes sense

Rumors were that we could see Drew Adams—currently on a Supercross-Futures program be a possible fill-in for either 250SX division if needed—make his pro supercross debut. It seems like the goal for Kawasaki is to not rush Adams into his pro career too early, thinking about his long-term success. But then again, if he appears ready to the team, he will make the jump.
So, Masterpool will make his season debut this weekend alongside of Marchbanks, running Marchbanks’ 2023 national number, #26. Not to write-off Masterpool’s skills in supercross—which he has said repeatedly the last few months he is excited to race—but big-picture he wants to be a true championship contender when the AMA Pro Motocross Championship gets underway in late May.

The following is a press release from Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Ty Masterpool to Join Garrett Marchbanks in 250SX Western Regional Championship
Lining up for the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross was put on hold for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen after suffering from an illness that kept him from racing, leaving a void for the team in the 250SX Western Regional Championship. Stepping up to help the team fill out its west coast vacancy will be Ty Masterpool, who will be running his first supercross stint with the team. The off-season has been good for Masterpool, and he’s ready to showcase his talent alongside Marchbanks this weekend at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.
Pro Circuit Team Manager Ian Southwell: "It was tough to see Levi so badly wanting to race at Anaheim but being unable to have the strength to do so. We had to come together as a team to figure out the best plan of attack for the rest of the supercrosss season, and Ty impressively stepped up to help the team as a whole. We’ve seen his progress over the off-season and think he’s got what it takes to make it his best season yet."
