The 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship kicks off this weekend in Anaheim, California. Unfortunately, there are a few riders who won’t be racing due to injury. Check out the list below for a look at who’ll be missing the action.
450SX
Christian Craig – Knee | Out
Craig hopes to return to action in Tampa after tearing his ACL and meniscus at the final round of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
250SX
Casey Cochran – Leg | Out
Cochran sustained a leg injury in November that required surgery. He won’t be lining up for A1.
Derek Drake – Illness | Out
Drake recently reported on Instagram he’s dealing with Lyme disease and will miss at least the first part of the season.
RJ Hampshire – Wrist | TBD
Hampshire sustained a wrist injury just before the opening round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. He returned to racing later in the season but ended up needing an additional surgery on his wrist. There’s no official word on his status yet, but it seems unlikely he’ll line up this weekend.

Devin Simonson – Wrist | TBD
Simonson sustained a wrist injury just before Christmas that required surgery. He’ll likely miss the first part of the 250SX east region. Australian Reid Taylor gets the fill in for ClubMX.
Jalek Swoll – Achilles | Out
Earlier this week our own Steve Matthes reported Jalek Swoll is out with a torn Achilles tendon. We’ll have more on this as information becomes available.
Update: Triumph noted Swoll's injury in a press release on Thursday afternoon.
Sucks to hear but sounds like Swoll tore Achilles.

Robbie Wageman – Wrist | Out
Wageman crashed while practicing semi-recently and sustained a fractured and dislocated wrist. He’s out for the time being.
