Achilles Injury for Swoll, Robertson moves West, Forkner East for Triumph
Some last minute changes and unfortunate news for the Triumph Racing squad, as we have heard Jalek Swoll has suffered an Achilles tendon injury. We don't have details yet but that could at least shelve his Monster Energy AMA Supercross plans for 2025. The team is making some changes around this injury, as Stilez Robertson moves to the West Region alongside Jordon Smith and Austin Forkner, originally planned for West, moves East. With Swoll out, Forkner and Smith might represent the team's best chance at wins and titles, so they will be put on separate regions. As Ian Kimber, Head of Global Racing Programs for Triumph explains: "Swapping coasts for Austin and Stilez will ensure that we have the best representation on the gate possible and continue to build on the successes we had last year."
Robertson missed the entire season last year with major wrist issues and recovery, so this could be seen as a rebuilding year.
Will there be an injury replacement for Swoll? We believe there will be, and Steve Matthes is hinting it could be Mikkel Haarup, who raced for Triumph in MXGP's MX2 class in 2024, but has aged out of the class. Haarup is still under contract with Triumph as it develops its 450 for racing in 2026. We shall see if he ends up racing 250 East alongside Forkner.
Triumph's press release from today is below.
TRIUMPH RACING ENTERS A1 WITH Jordon Smith AND Stilez Robertson COMPETING IN 250SX WEST
With Jalek Swoll suffering an unfortunate pre-season injury in the lead up to the 2025 AMA SuperMotocross World Championship season, Triumph Racing will now be represented by Jordon Smith and Stilez Robertson at the opening round in Anaheim, California.
Entering his second season with the Triumph Racing Factory Team, Swoll was eager to build upon his successful 2024 campaign. Initial symptoms indicate a tendon injury, although Jalek will undergo further detailed medical analysis for a full diagnosis.
The injury may rule out Swoll for the 250SX East season, so Austin Forkner will switch coasts from West to East with Stilez Robertson now set to make his Triumph Racing debut this weekend inside Angel Stadium. Everyone at Triumph wishes Jalek a fast recovery as we look forward to the 2025 season kick off.
