Feld Entertainment: SMX Playoff Dates and Venues to Be Announced in First Quarter of 2025
In a recent interview with Sean Brennen, Director Public Relations - Supercross, for Feld Entertainment, we have learned the dates and venues for the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs will be announced in the first quarter of the new year. The 2024 dates were released as TBA when the schedule was originally released around this time last year and set to be announced at the Anaheim 1 Supercross season opener, although the announcement was pushed back and released during the Daytona Supercross.
Brennen stated they do not expect the 2025 SMX Playoff dates and venues announcement to be as late as it was this year, although he did not rule it out completely. He said the entire team (Feld Entertainment as well as MX Sports Pro Racing) is working behind the scenes to improve the program from all aspects and want to get it fully refined before making any sort of announcements public.

In the interview, Brennen said we can once again expect an announcement sometime in the beginning of 2025, stating it could be released, “Anywhere between January and March.”
“We don't know for sure yet. It'll be in the first quarter, for sure. There are ongoing conversations, there's things that we certainly want to fix now doing [SMX] two years now, we have a lot more feedback on what works and what doesn't. So, we certainly have venues in mind cities in mind and obviously we're, you know, pretty far down the planning stages with some of those venues… I think the goal would be the Anaheim opener, but like last year, we ended up making that a little bit more unique and we ended up announcing it at Daytona. I don't know that we'll go that deep again next year, but we might. So, I would say anywhere in between January and March we will be announcing those venues. Again, we want to make sure that some of the things that we do want to fix for 2025 that we're able to do that. And we have all of those conversations before we make the final announcement.”
Brennen continued:
“From my standpoint, I would love to announce that the Anaheim opener, but sometimes it takes a little bit longer to get all the details and even more so get contracts signed, so you never want to make an announcement prematurely, that's for sure.”
