  • Honda's CRF-F Youth Trail Bike Lineup: New Riders, Lifelong Memories

Over here at Racer X, we’re focused on the highest-end professional racing, mostly, but the life blood of the sport is the enthusiast who rides just for fun. For motorcycling to thrive, it’s key to foster more experiences of the two-wheeled life. Honda’s youth CRF-F trailbike line has been helping build those experiences for decades. Get a few of these bikes and the whole family can experience the same thrills as Jett Lawrence in an SMX race!

With Honda’s famous build quality, overall toughness, and attention to detail, these bikes are designed to be as durable as they are fun. Over the years the bikes have advanced too, adding electric starting and fuel injection to several models. That makes them more reliable and predictable than ever!

It starts with the legendary CRF50F ($1799), which has a super-reliable 50cc air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine, a three-speed transmission with automatic clutch, and an adjustable throttle limiter, which parents love. Tons of people have learned to ride on this machine, and it continues today, building more memories.

The smaller CRF-F bikes are loaded with features for first-time riders and their parents, while the larger models give the rider more control and independence. Next in the lineup comes the electric-start CRF110F ($2699), the perfect step up for growing riders ready for a challenge. The auto-clutch four-speed transmission and low seat height combine the perfect balance of independence and control.

One could argue that the CRF125F ($3499) and CRF125F Big Wheel ($3899) pack more fun-per-dollar than any dirt bike you can buy. These are great bikes for growing or even adult-sized riders to learn on, but they come with a little secret: experienced riders can rip on them for hours and have a great time, too! A few years ago, Honda revamped these bikes with a twin-spar-style frame, which allowed for improved suspension and handling while also lowering the seat height. The 29.1-inch seat height of the standard CRF125F adds confidence for newer riders or those with a shorter inseam. Or step up to the Big Wheel version with larger 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels and longer-travel suspension, which is ideal for taller riders looking for more stability and control. These are manual-clutch, four-speed bikes with electronic fuel injection. And with Honda’s rugged build quality, they’ll seemingly run forever, so the fun never ends.

With the same championship-winning DNA at the heart of all Honda’s off-road products, Honda’s CRF-F youth Trail bikes are the perfect first steps in a lifetime full of riding adventure and enjoyment.
