Seth Hammaker Provides Update on Shoulder: Four Months Out of Surgery, Should Be Back on Bike Soon
For the first time in a few months, Seth Hammaker has provided an update. The 2021 AMA 250SX rookie of the year scored two podium finishes (both third place finishes) en route to finishing tenth in the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX East Region Championship. He suffered two DNFs (the first round Detroit Supercross and the Foxborough Supercross) and missed the Nashville Supercross round with a shoulder injury from the Foxborough round. The Pennsylvania native suffered a crash and shoulder injury ahead of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship that sidelined him for the entire championship, as well as the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) playoffs.
In a video on the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki race team’s Instagram page on Tuesday, recently turned 24-year-old Hammaker said he is about four months removed from surgery on his shoulder and he should be cleared to return to riding soon.
Hammaker, who turned pro with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki in supercross in 2021, also stated he will return to the team for 2025. Mitch Payton told Steve Matthes on the PulpMX Show in late April that Hammaker and Cameron McAdoo would both be back with the team in 2025.
“Hey guys, Seth Hammaker here. I'm pumped to announce that I signed with the Monster Energy/Pro Kawasaki team for the 2025 race season. Super excited and grateful for another opportunity. A lot of ups and downs throughout the years with the team but looking forward to our best year yet. Yeah, I got a more motivated than ever. I have a great group around me, a great team, great people, so really excited to, you know, get another season underway. Little update for me on my shoulder injury, I had a crash before the outdoor season, busted up my shoulder, had to get surgery. We're about four months out from that now, so almost in the clear to ride. Everything's been good, rehab’s been going really well, so a few more weeks then I can get back on the bike. So, really looking forward to that. And then, yeah, just get back into it. Have a good offseason and the 2025 supercross is gonna be here before we know it. So, thank you guys for all the support, and we'll see you guys at the races.”
