After two years with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, Christian Craig is returning to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing. Craig won the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX West Region Championship with the team and split time as a 450 rider in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship as well. Now, Craig will race a YZ450F in the 2025 and 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) and serve as a 250 rider development coach. Craig will race alongside Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, and Justin Cooper in 2025. Yes, four 450 riders for that team in 2025! That's good stuff.
As for Craig's role, his will be on the track as a racer but is also expected to help the team's 250 riders develop. Craig is very tight with Haiden Deegan dating back to the days as teammates with this team two years ago, and Deegan even hooked up with Craig earlier this season during supercross to work on whoops, where Craig excels. Craig's mechanic from his championship season in 2022, Brent Duffe, now works for Deegan.
Craig is also brothers with Star's 450 Team Manager Jeremy Coker. Lots of relationships there, and they'll keep it going for the next two years.
