The second round of the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs will take place this weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. Check out the report below for a look at who’s getting back to racing, and who will miss the action due to injury.
450 Class
Jason Anderson – Banged Up | In
Anderson was forced to sit last Saturday out after a big crash during qualifying. He’ll be back for Texas.
Justin Barcia – Banged Up | TBD
Barcia came back for the first round of SMX after taking time off to let knee and hamstring injuries heal, but a big crash during qualifying ruined his return. It’s believed he’ll line up for the weekend, but at time of posting we hadn’t received official verification regarding his status.
250 Class
Daxton Bennick – General Health | Out
Bennick will miss all of SMX in an attempt to overcome some health issues he’s been dealing with.
Casey Cochran – Arm Knee | TBD Out
Cochran came back at Charlotte after sustaining deep lacerations in his arm at Unadilla, but a big crash in qualifying at Charlotte forced him back on the sidelines. At time of posting we hadn’t received verification on his status for this weekend in Texas.
[Update: Friday, September 13 at 2:15 p.m.]
Husqvarna has announced Cochran is out for the remainder of the SMX Playoffs due to a knee injury.
Dilan Schwartz – Wrist | Out
Schwartz has had multiple wrist surgeries throughout the year, and the latest led to an infection after Washougal. The wrist has been a major problem and will cause him to miss SMX.
Jalek Swoll – Head, Banged Up | TBD Out
Swoll went down hard off the start of the first 250 moto last week in Charlotte. He appeared to be unconscious, which prompted a red flag, and he did not return to the track for the rest of the day. At time of posting the team had yet to verify his status for this weekend.
[Update: Swoll will not race in Texas.]
Nate Thrasher – Leg | In
Thrasher returned to action for the first round of SMX following a broken collarbone, but his day was spoiled when he crashed in qualifying and sustained a hematoma on his leg. He’ll be back for this weekend.
