MotoSport Inks Three-Year Deal with Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
Portland, OR—MotoSport.com signs a three-year extension and assumes Official Online Retailer Sponsor of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship and title sponsor for the Washougal Nationals through 2021.
MotoSport.com has guaranteed its longest running involvement with the world's premier racing event by signing a contract extension through 2021 that gives the popular online retailer of parts and gear five consecutive years as a primary sponsor for the Outdoor National Championship series. Additionally, the agreement with NBC Sports and MX Sports Pro Racing calls for MotoSport to continue as title sponsor of the Washougal Nationals and the coveted holeshot sponsor.
"We are so excited to be a part of Motocross for another three years," said Darren Green, director of marketing for MotoSport. "Obviously we love the sport but even more than that we love being intimately involved with the nationals while helping to grow dirt bike racing and help bring it to current fans and the next generation of riders."
MotoSport has a long tradition of sponsoring riders and teams but the current involvement represents the largest and longest investment for the sport of motocross in the company's 20 year history. MotoSport started as a dirt bike parts and gear company and while the focus has naturally expanded over the years to embrace more of the powersports industry, at its core and heart remains dirt bikes and motocross racing.
"Not only are we happy to have MotoSport as a partner, we are thrilled to have them sponsoring Motocross for the next three years," said Chris Stiepock, vice president for NBC Sports Ventures. "The support as well as their now consistent and on-going presence in the Outdoor Nationals only serves to help grow the sport and make it better for fans and racers."
The 12-round 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series begins May 18 at the Hangtown MX Classic in Sacramento, CA, followed by a return to Fox Raceway in Pala, CA, for the first time since 2011, the following week. The season includes a new stop at WW Ranch Motocross Park in Jacksonville, FL on June 22 and wraps August 25 at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN.”
"We just concluded a fantastic supercross season where Cooper Webb stunned the field and grabbed his first 450 class championship," Green said. "We are super pumped to see what he brings to the outdoors and whether Eli Tomac can make it a three-peat. We expect big and exciting things this summer and fans and our loyal customers can certainly expect big and exciting things from MotoSport."
