Although there are still eight rounds remaining in the 2017 FIM Motocross World Championship, today Youthstream announced the provisional calendar for the 2018 season—and there are some big changes and announcements.
Qatar, which hosted the season opener the last five seasons, is off the calendar for 2018. The season will now begin in Argentina on March 4, before traveling to Red Sands, a new venue in Spain.
The MXGP of USA is also back for another season with a proposed return to Gatorback Park in Florida on September 2. The first USGP scheduled at the venue is set to take place later this year.
The season will end at Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, a popular road racing circuit in the Italian town of Imola.
Youthstream also announced that the 2018 Motocross of Nations would take place on U.S. soil at a venue yet to be determined. There have been rumors that RedBud will host the event, but nothing official has been announced.
