Chris Alldredge will join an already strong contingent of American riders competing in the Australian Supercross Championship, as MotoOnline.com.au reported this morning that the Oregon native will replace the injured Dylan Long at Crankt Protein Honda Racing.
The 20-year-old will fly to Australia tomorrow to begin testing with the team. He will make his debut at the second round in Toowoomba on October 14.
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to head over to Australia and join the Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team,” Alldredge said. “It’s all happened so fast, and I’ll be flying out first thing tomorrow to be with the team. Obviously there are quite a few guys from the U.S. currently racing the championship, so I’m pumped to be lining up with them and all the Australians next weekend.”
After two years with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki, Alldredge has yet to announce his plans for the 2017 season, but he’s not expected to return to Mitch Payton’s team.
Alldredge missed most of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship due to a fractured pelvis sustained at the Monster Energy Supercross season finale in Las Vegas.
