Tim Gajser has been ruled out of the Motocross of Nations this weekend In Maggiora, Italy, after a crash on Wednesday at his home in Slovenia.
The newly crowned world champion was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks due to heavy bruising, according to MXGP.com. He was released after it was deemed no treatment would be necessary.
After consulting with doctors, it was determined the 20-year-old would need two weeks of rest in order to recover, ruling him out for this weekend.
No replacement for the team has been announced.
