Ryan Villopoto will come out of retirement—for one weekend, anyway—later this year when the four-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion will compete at the 2016 AUS-X Open in Sydney, Australia in November. In the meantime, Villopoto surprised local fans this past weekend by racing the last rounds of the Motosport.com Northwest MX Series at Moto West in Bremerton, Washington, which is about 30 minutes outside where RV grew up.

Prior to competing in the FIM World Motocross Championship, in what would be his final season of racing in 2015, Villopoto joined Jeremy McGrath as the only two riders in AMA Supercross history with four consecutive titles. The Washington native is fifth all-time in AMA Supercross wins with 41.
