Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey was all but unstoppable on the way to his impressive back-to-back Monster Energy Supercross Championships. I’m sure each of his three titles has their own special meaning, but for fans I believe we saw the metamorphosis become complete into the racer Ryan has been working for his entire career. We’ll get his perspective on the season and the much anticipated 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship battle that begins this weekend at Hangtown.
AutoTrader.com/Monster Energy/JGR Yamaha's Justin Barcia never had a shot this supercross season after sustaining a thumb injury prior to Anaheim that eventually required surgery. Justin ended up third overall last year in the outdoors and we’re all hoping he finds that mojo quickly and gets back up front again where he belongs. The clean slate of a new season burns eternal for all racers, especially those looking for a little redemption.
Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb is the 2016 AMA Supercross 250SX West Champion….finally. Fans were not sure how both 250 series would end considering that they had more plot twists than an Oscar-nominated Spielberg movie throughout the season. Coop managed his wrist injury in the muddy quagmire and held the #1 plate for the final scene. We’ll get his thoughts on the night and an update on the injury with Hangtown just days away.
Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner will make his much anticipated pro motocross debut this weekend. We have closely followed the six-time Loretta Lynn Amateur National Champion’s career and just know they’ll be a lot of pro fans this weekend asking, “Who in the hell is that fast #214?” Welcome to the big leagues, Austin!
